Gorjuss Christmas ...

As promised this is my Daughter's Christmas card this year and I have managed a bit of
masking for this one and I am really pleased with the result.
Really loving red and green again, also that gorgeous pine cone die again!
Not sure you can see it clearly but the red rafia sticking out of the top left of the card is a tiny
tag with 'Daughter' heat embossed in silver on it for a personal touch.
---
I am entering this card in the Passion for Promarkers Challenge; 'Celebrations'
as my third and final entry.
---
Thank you for taking a peek and any comments/questions you wish to leave.
I will post my Hubby's card in the coming days as my final Christmas card posting.

Take care everyone, wherever you are, love Jane x

Have a Magical Christmas Son ...

Finally finishing my nearest & dearest Christmas cards, as the title suggests this one is for my Son.
I have used this stamp many times but I just thought my pine cone die works brilliantly with it!
Besides my colouring has come along way since then especially red
which I have always found not to my liking but this one I am pleased with.
---
The stamp is an Elyzbells one but sadly they shut down some time ago.
Coloured in the usual way so I won't detail that.
Sizzix Pine Cone covered with Diamond Dust.
Sentiments are CC Designs & Adorables (as before).
---
I am entering this card in the Passion for Promarkers Mega Christmas Challenge which is 'Celebrations'

Thank you for your visiting my blog

Vintage Santa ... (Joanna Sheen DT Card)

Another DT card today which I made for the Joanna Sheen Challenge this month.
On my first card I coloured Santa in traditional colours but the more I did
I realised what a wonderful warming face he had and decided to go vintage.
Just goes to show this stamp suits both traditional and modern.
---
Stamped little santa onto white cardstock and coloured with a combination of Promarkers,
Flexmarkers and Prismacolors.
Cream cardstock for the backing which has been distressed with TH ink.
Sentiment is also from the stamp set.
Some seam binding, twine, pearls, charm, buttons & cheesecloth from my stash.
The fir cone is a favourite of mine right now available here
All finished off with some hand stitching as my regular followers would expect!
---
I have been asked about my snow effects on previous cards and it is really rather simply.
Colour your image as you wish, dot over the image and background with a white gel pen.
Finally using Liquid Pearls dot over your work once again, leave to dry.
---
For the frosted pine cones or flowers as previously,
pva your work and then add Twinklets Diamond Dust.
---
Loving all the entries so far on the challenge, some amazing work and there is still time
to enter and win some fabulous prizes.
---
We also have some weekly blog candy available starting with these fab goodies

All we ask is for you to become a follower of the

Gorjuss Magical Christmas ...

I have a Gorjuss stamp for you today, in more ways than one.
This little sweetie is called 'Bear Skin' and I have been playing about with red
Promarkers for this one, something I don't normally have much luck with!
I was inspired by the free papers in latest issue of
Cardmaking & Papercraft called 'Berry Merry' designed by Jennifer Ellory.
The turquoise with the red looks fabulous, not something I would have put together myself
to be honest but this particular paper is my favourite from the stylish designs.
---
I have also die cut some flowers from red felt using the Die-namics Prima Donna Petals and
then punched some buttons out of matching papers and added to the centres.
The sentiment is one of many from the Adorables range of stamps that I spoke about on my last post.
This particular one is from the 'Caring' Set.
---
I am entering this creation into the 'Passion for Promarkers' challenge which is 'Celebrations'
---
Thanks for popping by and your lovely comments on my last post,
take care, Jane x

Waiting for Christmas ...

Just a quick little card from me today using the Adorables range by Jayne Nesterenko.
I purchased the complete set last year and as the name suggests they are just adorable!
Such an innocent quality about them don't you think?
---
Pretty simple this one but I am rather pleased with the results.
Alittle bit of distressing, colouring and some ribbon & lace.
Can you believe it a card by me without any stitching, don't worry it won't last long!!!!
---
Thanks for popping by, take care Jane x

Winter Tilda ...

Back again, I have been playing with my new Sizzix Bigz die called 'Tattered Pinecone'.  I have been waiting and waiting for this die to arrive and finally Tuesday that day arrived.  You know what us crafter's are like when new goodies are released!!!!
---
I decided that the pine cones would go perfectly with another new addition to my crafty stash; Winter Tilda by Magnolia.  The cones and fir have been sprinkled with Twinklets for a frosty effect.  Again I have coloured this little cutie with a combination of Promarkers, Flexmarkers and Prismacolor.  Some white gel pen dots followed by Opal White Liquid Pearls for the background.
The backing papers are a download  combined with some white cardstock, distressed with Shabby Shutters.  The sentiment and the shabby stamps are Lili of the Valley along with Stempleglede  Grunge collection.  I have highlighted Tildas pom poms and muff with Liquid Applique.  Button and bell from my stash and some bakers twine to finish.  Oh yes, for a change plenty of handstitching too!
---

The banner has been glittered with Stickles Xmas Red.
All the backing paper is from the Simply Cards and Papercraft mag,
Forever Friends gift

Doily is from Joanna Sheen

Happy Bear-thday ...

Thought I would colour a Teddy Bo  image the other night and this is the end result, this little cutie it called 'On his tod'    Another card with the image being the largest part of the card which is a style I really like (can't you tell)!
---
It doesn't really show well on the picture but the right hand side of Ted has been raised using foam pads in different depths right across to the left foot being just glued flat.
Some ribbon for his bow tie, a few gems, glossy accents for his nose, TH tumbled glass distress ink for the background. Computer generated sentiment and little hand stitching.
---
I have been asked which Prismacolors I use to color these gorgeous little bears, so here goes;
I start with a base of Ginger Root followed by Light Umber, Burnt Ochre and then Dark Brown.
Once these colours have been applied I go lightly over the image with the Ginger Root again but without using the blending solution.  In the darkest areas I use a little black.
This is just my choice of colours but I found it works for me.  Just a matter of playing around to see what suits your technique/style best.
---
I am going to enter this in the Teddy Bo Challenge which is this time round is Clean and Simple
---
Happy crafting fellow craft addicts, take care Jane x

Rudolph Tilda ...

Today I have a gorgeous Tilda for you; Rudolph Tilda.  This particular stamp was part of last years Christmas release, but I think she is sooo cute I just had to dig her out and play.
I have stamped her on Kraft card and then coloured her using Promarkers for the background and her face and Prismacolor for the rest.  I was trying to create a velvet look and I am rather pleased with how she turned out.
---
The backing papers are a freebie from a mag back in the Summer, I think they are Fancy Pants?  I have matted and layered some red cardstock onto gold mirri with lace trim.  The mistletoe is a Doohickey die which is a new purchase for me.  I have also used some rafia, hand stitched in gold thread and the sentiment is also freebie, distessed with TH Antique Linen. Oh there is also a gold heart pin amongst the mistletoe too!
---
Just received some new Tildas from this years release, they are soooo cute (aren't they all)!
---
Take care, enjoy your crafting and I hope you like todays card

Little Holly ....

Today I have 'Little Holly' from the wonderful Lili of the Valley latest release.  This is the second card I have made using this little cutie but this time I have gone for a night time background.  I have coloured her using a selection of Promarkers, Flexmarkers and Prismas to create this affect.  As you can see I have taken my time and done it 'Pointillism' style.
---
I have used navy linen cardstock, Papermania backing paper, Rymans white cardstock.
The sentiment is from the Adorables range of stamps, some red seam binding and I have recycled the holly leaves & berries from an old cracker, sprinkled with Twinklets diamond dust, all finished off with some more hand stitching.  Almost forgot some Stickles Crystal glitter for the candle to give a warm glow.
---
I am entering this card into the Lili of the Valley challenge this week which is 'Warm and Cozy'
Thanks for looking, take care, Jane x

Christmas Baubles ...

Sounding like a broken record but I am loving the Lili of the Valley Christmas release.  Today my cards are clean and simple using the 'Christmas Baubles' stamp.  I think I am really getting the hang of colouring with red, as I have said previously not a colour I enjoy shading but finally I think I have got it!

I have also shaded using a white Prisma pencil as shown on the lovely Bev's blog HERE
Recipe, well some mirri card, Rymans white cardstock, stamped with Momento Tuxedo Black.  Promarkers & Prismacolor, red gems for the holly berries and Cosmic Shimmer pearl pva for the mistletoe.
---
Thanks to all my followers, old and new.  Also like to thank my fellow Docrafters for all your lovely comments.
Take care, happy crafting

Joy to the World ...

Today I have a card which I have made in celebration of World Card Making Day over on the
 Lili of theValley blog.
I have used 'Moonlight Wishes' which is yet another irresistible stamp, I NEED them all!
This is my card especially for the occasion, crafting all over the world looking down from the moon!
I know we are all passionate about cardmaking so it is a joy to the world.

I have used non-traditional Christmas colours for this one for a change.  Papers are a free download distressed with TH Antique Linen.  Hand stitched, some ultra fine 'Lion's Mane' glitter and some liquid applique for here hat.  Some white flock for the snow, coloured using Promarkers, Flexmarkers & Prismas.
The sentiment is from a HOTP old QVC craft set, many moons ago (excuse the punn)!
Some ribbon and pearls to finish.
---
I have linked my favourite card I have made to date with a LOTV image which is here
I love LOTV, it was hard to choose as I have soooo many stamps and there are different techniques and colours that I like about them all but this one is a recent make and my first ribbon wreath so I am rather proud of this one!
---
Thanks for popping by once again and to say 'Lee Evans' on his Roadrunner tour at the O2 last week was absolutely fantastic, crying with laughter, loved his final song and he finished off with his old routine of Bohemian Rhapsody!
---
Take care, happy world cardmaking day

Peace on Earth ...

Today I have a Gorjuss, I think quite literally!  Never happy coloring in red Promarkers but this is my best yet (well I think so).  I have used Prismas over the pens to add definition and it is definitely something I will be doing again.  These lovely Gorjuss girls look great when they are in such striking colours.
---
Another fabulous sunny day and I am making Christmas cards, good old British weather.   Onto the recipe, papers are from Summertime Designs and slightly distressed with TH inks.  The flowers are Prima Painterly Petals Hydrageas and the ribbon is from the packaging.  A few dew drops, a pin and some gems and hey presto, done.
The sentiment is a rub on from HOTP in a kit I have had for yonks and they were designed for Great Big Brads.
---
If Mr Blogger is behaving you should be able to see today's card but I will be on a Thames Clipper on my way to  The O2 Arena to see Lee Evans on this Road Runner tour, can't wait!
---
Take care, enjoy your evening

Teddy Bo Wishes ...

Just a quick and simple card today to show you, back to sizing the digi to cover most of the card. I have done the cloud technique using TH tumbled glass distress ink, works well on this image. Matted onto cardstock and then hand stitched.  The sentiment was CG and to finish three gems.  I have coloured using Prismas as I really like the effect it gives on these gorgeous little bears.  Finally not clear on the photograph but he has glossy accents on this goggles too!
---
Thanks for popping by, playing about with bits and pieces on my craft desk so I will post again very soon
Take care, happy crafting Jane x

Twas the night before Christmas ...

Updated: World Cardmaking Day Saturday 1st October, 2011
This is my favourite LOTV to date and I have also made another card especially for this day, please see HERE for that card!

Today I have a little cutie from the LOTV release earlier this month, I just couldn't resist, she is called 'Little Holly'  isn't just fabulous!
---
I have combined her with a ribbon wreath and sewn some red beads from an old Christmas cracker last year.   The sentiment is computer generated as I wanted to look like little Holly is sneaking downstairs to see if Father Christmas had been!
---
Hand stitching, goes without saying with me and of course some glitter for the stars and candle.
Backing paper is from Dovecraft 6x6 designer paper pack callled 'Contemporary Christmas' and the cardstock is from Core-dinations and is from a pack called 'Elements'.
---

My news today is that I have won the Blog Candy here which is Male & Female CC Design sentiment stamps, lucky me, can't wait. Thanks very much Caz

Thanks for popping by, take care Jane x

Go out and make a splash ...

This is the Tilda card I have mentioned on my last couple of posts.  I was asked to make a special card with the theme 'I do like to be beside the seaside'.  I had done similar cards with this Tilda under an acetate dome before and I think they are really effective.
---
The card is for Barbara Collier who is demonstrating at the National Floral Artistry show being held on September 22nd in Torquay 2011.  It is from the members of the Aldershot Floral Design Club wishing Barbara well on her demonstration.  Many of the club are entering the competition so I wish them all well especially Annette.

Thanks once again for popping by

Celebrate Every Day ...

Today I have card which I have made for the 'Here Come The Boys' challenge this week which is 'Bingo'  I have chosen; cute image, two squares and twine.
---
I have had this LOTV stamp called 'Little Lorry Bear'  for a while but ashamedly hadn't been inked so I thought I would stamp onto Kraft card and colour using Promakers, Flexmarkers and Prismas.  I have also used some plain white Washi Tape which is another craft product I NEEDED but had yet to use.  Hey, two items now used!
---
Backing paper is HOTP Forever Christmas Cards paper stack which was free last month in a magazine.  I have used Kraft card and a ribbler and some red card from my local craft shop.  The sentiment is from a Hanglar stamp set called ' Messenger'.  Buttons from my stash, bakers twine and some standard office staples.  And it goes without saying some hand stitching too!
---
Still playing with some of the LOTV Christmas cuties and I will post my Tilda soon.
Take care, Jane x

It's the most wonderful time of the year ...

Back again, glorious sunshine here in the South East and I am posting a Christmas card!
---
This stamp is from the Adorables range called 'Caring' I just love the images designed by Jayne Nesterenko, gorgeous warming images don't you think.
---
Image coloured in Promakers, sentiment is also from the stamp set.  Papers I think were either a mag freebie or download, sorry can't remember any more detail than that.  Snowflakes are a Martha Stewart punch with Stickles 'Crystal' glitter.  A little bit of stitching this time using a  'In Stitch'z' by Bazzill template called 'Flourishes'.  Finally I have used a little TH 'Antique Linen distress ink.
---
On a roll at the moment, loads of ideas and not enough time.  I am currently playing with some LOTV stamps but I also have a Tilda to post too.  Please visit me in blogland again very soon.
Take care, Jane x

Me to You Christmas ...

Well I have been playing with my new Flexmarkers and I love them.  The reason for buying them was because sets 1 & 2 have such pale translucent  tones and they look almost like watercolours.
They work perfectly for good old Tatty here alongside my Promarkers.  I have made three quick Christmas cards as you can see and this particular stamp is a new release called Winter Wonderland Dress Up which includes an embossing folder, not sure if you can make it out from the photographs?
It was quite difficult to line up with the stamped image but a fair result I think.
I have added a touch of glitter for the snowman outfit on all three but I have also used white flock on the hat and scarf on this final one.  All sentiments are CG, a little hand stitching and a bit of bling.
The Flexmarkers I have used are Blue Grey, Glacier Blue and Antique White along with Promarkers, Powder Blue, Pale Blossom, Pale Pink, Ruby Red, Warm Grey 3, Pumpkin and Orange.  Finished off the detail with 0.1 Letraset Fine Liner.
---
Thanks for taking a look, love all your comments and welcome to my new followers.
I have plenty of mess on my craft table so I will be back soon!
Take care, Jane x

Dress Up ...

After the new second release of LOTV Christmas stamps this week, some of which are coming my way yippee! I have dug out this little cutie (from my ever growing collection)  for a quick card, Lili of the Valley stamps are just devine aren't they?  Pretty simple card matting and layering, hand stitching, quick sentiment from Craftwork Cards and some flowers and ribbon to finish.
---
Thats all from me today, I have plenty of fab craft goodies strewn all over my craft desk so please pop back soon to see what I have been up to?!?!?!
---
Just had an email to say my Flexmarkers have been posted so double goodies for me tomorrow,
 fingers crossed?

On your wedding day ...

A quick wedding card I was asked to make; the brief pink, cream and pearls.
I took inspiration from the Royal Wedding Card I made for William & Catherine, I had stitched two love birds on their box to go with the stitched card so I thought this time around I would make the birds the feature on the card.  Clean & simple was the look I was going for, job done!
---
The backing paper is a freebie from Summer Time Designs; awareness kit download.  I have also used linen cream card; cream seam binding; cg sentiment; pearls from stash; MS frond punch; Die-namics rolled rose die, all topped off with a little TH Antique Linen distress ink. As before I have made the paper aida on a spreadsheet, pricked the holes and then stitched in pink cotton.
---
Take care, enjoy your crafting

I'm Back .... Merry Christmas

I am back!!!!
Had some family time whilst my Daughter was off school.  I have done a little crafting here and there and new goodies too. Back to usual today, catching up on my work, walking the dog or should I say swimming with the dog in this weather!
---
Well I have a Christmas card today, promised myself I would make some every month, I haven't done that but every little helps as they say!  I got the idea for this card from the Hanglar website many many moons ago and I cannot find it to show you now but when I do I will add it so you can see why I was soooo  inspired.
---
Thanks for popping by once again, sorry it has been so long but I do have some cards in the pipeline almost ready to post so I won't leave it so long this time!

Take care, Jane x

Winter Friends .... Gorjuss

As promised another Gorjuss from the recent release 'Winter Friends' !
Again coloured in the Gorjuss style intended by the artist,  which I just love.
Coloured using Promarkers and then dusted with TH distress ink 'Antique Linen' which seems to give me the effect I am looking for with these girls.
---
Lost my mojo abit this week but yesterday I won some Spellbinders border dies which is brilliant as I don't have any Spellbinders. Just ordered the tan embossing mats recommended to get the best results so as soon as they arrive I will be away and I hope my mojo will come with them?
Today I have won some Oriental gold embossed paper from Papermania AND two digis from Crafty Sentiments.  How lucky am I?
---
Off to buy a lottery ticket seeing as my luck is in, fingers crossed!
Take care, Jane x

Gorjuss ...

Today I have a card using one of the new Gorjuss, this one is called 'Toadstools', isn't just Gorjuss!
I can't believe the temperatures outside and I am posting a Christmas creation, mad or what, but I couldn't resist the new collection and playing straight away.
---
I have stuck to the traditional Gorjuss colours, dingy, dark kind of style and I am rather pleased with the results.  I have used Promarkers, TH 'Antique Linen' for the dusting and the same again but in disress stain for the snowflakes and a touch of Glimmer Mist.  The sentiment is from a HOTP QVC collection along while ago so I can't find a reference for you.  I have also used some Core-dinations cardstock I suppose you would say  petrol blue kinda colour along with   ???

you guessed it, plenty of hand stitching!

A couple of quick makes ...

As promised a coupe of quick makes using the same stamp which is from Anita's called Scribbly Flower Stamp by Docrafts.  I didn't buy it here, I have had it for many years but this is a link I found for you.
---
Pretty basic, square white card base, Coredinations blue cardstock punched with MS punch around the page called Cherish.  Kraft card stamped with the flower using Versamark and a white embossing powder.  Some pearls from my stash and some baby blue ribbon.  The sentiment again stamped with the ink and heat embossed is from Whimsey Stamps.
This one is much the same with some hand stitching, green ribbon to represent the stork of the flower and some Crystal Stickles for a bit of bling.  The sentiment once again is from Whimsey Stamps.

That's it for me today, I have a few cards in the pipeline so I hope you will join me again very soon.
Take care, Jane x

A good friend ...

Today a simple yet effective card and along the same lines as before, the digi  from a Precious Moments colouring sheet, covering most of the card.  Today I have coloured the image with a combination Prismas and Promarkers, some gorgeous liitle brads for the cufflinks and the sentiment was a freebie online somewhere, cannot find the link at the mo.  Alittle bit of ribbon, Coredinations cardstock and finally alittle TH distress ink dusting!
---
Oh yes some hand stitching, goes without saying and some glossy accents for his eye and a white pen for the spots on the tie which I have also decoupaged!

Welcome to my new followers, I am very glad you have joined me on my card making journey
I have a couple of quick makes coming next so watch this space
