On your wedding day ...

A quick wedding card I was asked to make; the brief pink, cream and pearls.
I took inspiration from the Royal Wedding Card I made for William & Catherine, I had stitched two love birds on their box to go with the stitched card so I thought this time around I would make the birds the feature on the card.  Clean & simple was the look I was going for, job done!

The backing paper is a freebie from Summer Time Designs; awareness kit download.  I have also used linen cream card; cream seam binding; cg sentiment; pearls from stash; MS frond punch; Die-namics rolled rose die, all topped off with a little TH Antique Linen distress ink. As before I have made the paper aida on a spreadsheet, pricked the holes and then stitched in pink cotton.

Royal Wedding Runner Up Cardmaking Competition ...

Well this is the project I was working on that I couldn't show some weeks back and why I was gone from blogging land for a while.  As you can see it is for the forthcoming Royal Wedding, the idea came to me very quickly but the planning and making of the card took over 20 hours but I am really happy with the result.
I chose to use the colours from the official wedding china, blue and gold with a hint of distressing.
---
Onto the details,  backing paper is from Pink Petticoat, hand stitched and distressed with Antique Linen from Tim Holtz.  The paper aida was cg, again distressed with the same ink and obviously hand cross stitched!  For the flowers I have used Sizzix Bigz 3d flower die and completed with pearl beads.  Martha Stewart branch punch, some pearl sprays and two heart pins from Wild Orchid Crafts.  As you can see it is an easel style card and for the bottom part I have used some fab lace from Cuddly Buddly and the sentiment is from LOTV.

I also made a matching box but this time I have stitched some love birds.
Not the best light to take the pictures in!

Mr & Mrs ...

Today I have a card complete with matching box that I have made for my MIL who is due to be married tomorrow, I wanted something really special and I know she will treasure it so I decided to go with paper aida and cross stitch in the colours of the wedding, cream & pale pink.  It has taken me countless hours to plan & stitch but I am really pleased with the result.
---
I have used Rymans cardstock and Anitas card blank, the backing paper is from Pink Petticoat (little fleurs).  Cream linen card from my stash, flowers & ribbon from Wild Orchid Crafts and the branch is a Martha Stewart punch.  The pearls and beads are from also my my stash which I have wired together.  Finished with Tim Holtz distress ink, Antique Linen.  As before I have made the aida on the computer and hand punched the holes and then stitched.

Thanks so much for dropping by and any comments you wish to leave.

The Sweet Cabin

Well today is a card I have made for a friend of mine who is just about to open up her new business as a traditional sweet shop. If you are anything like me I love the sweets from my childhood so I wish her a happy and prosperous future. Obviously when I hand her the this card I will also purchase some sweeties, got to try the merchandise!!!!!

I know in my last post I said I was off to play with the free stamps of Bentley Bear but unfortunately mine were faulty so I couldn't play :( I am waiting for a replacement set to come so hopefully sometime soon I can show you what I have created?
Well onto todays card, as you will see I have stuck with the paper aida and cross stitch theme. The striped paper is deckled at the top to represent the sweet bags along with the colour of them. I tried to embellish with different types of sweeties but I kept coming back to these beautiful flowers.

Grandmothers 90th

Made this card for my children to give to my Grandmother for her birthday. As you can see I am loving these colour tones at the moment. As on my previous post I do struggle with the sentiments but seeing as this is the main feature of the card it has turned out exactly as I planned and I am really rather pleased with the result. I created my own paper aida and then cross stitched the sentiment, the worst thing was to punch all the holes!
I am entering this card in the http://sirstampalotchallenge.blogspot.com/ for May which is Butterflies and Blossoms :)
Products used -
Anitas square card blank
Laura Ashley backing paper
Bazzill basics green card stock
Tim Holtz distress ink, Antique Linen
That butterfly punch, again!
Rymans white cardstock for the aida
Green cotton from stash
Ribbon, pin & flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts
Martha Stewart branch punch
Gems from Anitas
