Mr & Mrs ...

Today I have a card complete with matching box that I have made for my MIL who is due to be married tomorrow, I wanted something really special and I know she will treasure it so I decided to go with paper aida and cross stitch in the colours of the wedding, cream & pale pink.  It has taken me countless hours to plan & stitch but I am really pleased with the result.
---
I have used Rymans cardstock and Anitas card blank, the backing paper is from Pink Petticoat (little fleurs).  Cream linen card from my stash, flowers & ribbon from Wild Orchid Crafts and the branch is a Martha Stewart punch.  The pearls and beads are from also my my stash which I have wired together.  Finished with Tim Holtz distress ink, Antique Linen.  As before I have made the aida on the computer and hand punched the holes and then stitched.
---
Thanks so much for dropping by and any comments you wish to leave.
Fingers crossed for the weather and the wedding?

National Cardmaker of the Year 2010 continued ...

Found out today that I have also come second in the Papermania category of the competition!!!! This is the only photograph I have of my creation but I am not really sure whether you can make out that it has infact got an acetate dome on it, complete with liquid embossed rain drops?

'Cardmaking & Papercraft' Magazine have posted their photo of my entry on their website but that doesn't really show the dome either.
I think you can just see some raindrops? I wish I had taken some angled photos now.

Thanks for looking, can't wait for my new goodies although I must admit I am still making Christmas cards so I haven't really got time to play anyway!

---

I must say CONGRATULATIONS to all the finalists, it was great to see all the creations in the magazine and online.

I Won Some Goodies ...

Today I received my LOTV goodies which was great but I also received a box FULL of Sugar Nellie stamps. The reason I hear you ask, well I have come second in the National Cardmaker of the Year 2010 run by Cardmaking & Papercraft in the Sugar Nellie category!!!
---
This was my entry, I must admit when I made it I did not want to part with it but I am soooo glad I did. You have to be in it to win it as they say. All the winners are officially announced when the magazine goes on sale next week, can't wait.

Sooo many new goodies to stamp but I have spent the day clearing the leaves in the garden so I think I will take an evening off.

Thanks for popping by, I hope you like it and well done to all the other winners, I am looking forward to seeing the other winning entries.

Angel Tilda ...

Today I have an adorable Tilda (aren't they all) from the new Christmas 2010 collection. I couldn't resist her when I saw her along with a few others that just fell into my basket!!!! Not had time to play with the others but I am behind on my Christmas cards so I know they will be inked up very soon.
---
I have used Angel Tilda from Magnolia as I have already said which has been stamped onto Rymans white cardstock using Momento ink and coloured using Promarkers. I have used Crystal stickles for her wings and 3d foam pads to raise her up. I have stamped the christmas tree from the Adorables range onto watercolour paper using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Scattered Straw and lightly watercoloured. Pearl Cream cardstock from my stash and the backing paper is from Summer Driggs. Gems are from Anitas, Craftwork Cards candy, pin and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. Netting from Trago Mills in Cornwall. The sentiment is also from the Adorables range. Yet again I have used the branch punch from Martha Stewart. All papers have been edged using the distress ink. A long list sorry but I think thats the lot.
---
Really pleased with the colours on this one, I hope you agree.
Thanks for popping back to see my cards, take care
---
Ooops forgot to mention, this is my entry for this months Sir Stampalot Challenge which is titled 'Christmas Traditions'. I always remember putting the Angel on the top of the Christmas tree, she was shop brought but lets just say she wasn't quite perfect but we didn't have the heart to get a new one!

Simply Sassy 2 ....

Well here it is the other Simply Sassy card I told you about. Same colour tones as my previous post. I have incorporated a stamp from the Adorables range which I thought worked well too. Over at Funky Kits they have just released the second set of Simply Sassy so I managed to order a couple of those along with the wonderful sentiments from LOTV.
---
I have used the same backing paper from Summertime Designs, an old manilla envelope, Rymans cardstock again and a paper doily from Joanna Sheen. Hand stitched once again, it takes a bit longer than the faux but I do prefer the real thing. Flowers, ribbon and brads from Wild Orchid Crafts. Gems are Papermania and the sentiment from Craftwork Cards. I have distressed the edges once again with the Tim Holtz inks. Finally that Martha Stewart again and a button from my little pot of stash.
---
Thanks for looking, really enjoying these images but I really must get on and make some more Christmas cards!

Simply Sassy ...

Today I have been playing with a couple of the new stamps from Sugar Nellie range Simply Sassy, so here is my first creation. My children are teenagers so cards for friends have moved on from cute little boys & girls and I think these are just the job.
---
Well I have used the usual ingredients which includes Anitas square card blank, Rymans white cardstock and coloured using the fabulous Promarkers. I have also used a manilla envelope for backing paper along with the spotted paper from Summer Driggs. I have hand stitched and distressed using Tim Holtz Distress Inks. Paper doily and crystal brads from Joanna Sheen, ribbon, from Wild Orchid Crafts along with the flowers too. Martha Stewart branch punch and teh sentiment is Inkadinkado clear stamp set called Paperwork Greetings.
---
Really enjoying the cool blue colour tones at the moment (you probably guessed that already)!

LOTV Christmas ...

Well as promised some of the my creations using the fabulous LOTV Christmas Nativity stamp range. I just love them. I have made four in total so lots of pics today, I hope you like them? Pretty much using the same colour tones on each one.
---
I will try and list all the items used on the cards but if I have missed anything, or you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch & of course any comments you wish to leave.
---
Well here goes, on all cards I have used Anitas square card blanks, LOTV stamps, Momento Ink onto Rymans white cardstock and coloured using Promarkers. All the sentiments are from the Adorables range by Jayne Nestorenko and edged using Tim Holtz Distress Ink. Stickles glitter, ribbon from Wild Orchid Crafts, gems from Papermania and buttons from my stash. On the Angel card the cream border was a free gift from some craft shop when I made a purchase so I don't know what punch was used for this. Backing papers are from Anna Griffin, Polka Doodles
and some free downloads of the web, can't find where now so if you know get in touch & I will update this post.
---
Thanks for popping by, enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

Hanglar Girl ...

Although I have been playing with LOTV stamps and Adorables as previously mentioned they aren't quite finished so I thought I would show you this card I made a couple of weeks ago using a Hanglar stamp. This was a present so I don't know what she is called, sorry.
---
Papers are from MME and they were a magazine freebie. Flowers, pin & ribbon is from, you guessed it, who else but Wild Orchid Crafts. Martha Stewart branch punch. Sentiment is from Craftwork Cards. Coloured in Promarkers & hand stitched. The charm was also a present some years ago and the little bug I think came from Hobbycraft, again many years ago!
---
Thanks for popping by, I must go and finish the many cards I am playing around with before I start using my latest new goodies including some gorgeous Tildas from the new collection & a couple of the new Sugar Nellie stamps called Simply Sassy, amongst others.

Let it Snow ...

As promised another card using the this fabulous Ted stamp from LOTV, this time I have coloured him in brown which works really well too.
---
Right onto the supplies, backing paper I think is a freebie from a mag (can't remember which at this point, sorry). The brown backing is Pink Petticoat Christmas. As usual I have used Rymans white card, stamped with Momento ink and coloured with Promarkers. Snowflakes are punches from Martha Stewart using the same technique on the previous card. Ribbon is from my stash, I think I have recycled it from an old top? Faux stitching (cheat I know), gems from Anitas and that lovely liquid applique white fluff stuff again as used before. Finally the sentiment is CG.
---
Thanks for looking, playing with more LOTV stamps and the Adorables stamps from Jayne Nestorenko at the moment so I hope to be back soon with my creations.
Take care, Jane x

Christmas Ted ...

Finally managed to photograph some of my latest creations so here is the first, as promised. Love LOTV, who doesn't & I have too many of their stamps to mention!!!! Seeing as he is in the snow I thought I would colour him in grey (just like everyones favourite Tatty ted). Also I thought this backing paper reminded me of a lovely homemade knitted jumper and hey presto a perfect combination. I couldn't lay my hands on a quickie glue pen when I glittered the snowflakes so used an alternative but I was disappointed that the glue remained blue, not the look I had planned but upon reflection I think it is what us crafters call 'a happy accident' don't you think?
---
Well onto the ingredients, stamp obviously LOTV, snowflakes are punched using good old Martha Stewart plus ultra fine glitter and that glue pen, finished with some Anitas gems. The ribbon is from Wild Orchid Crafts (fab suppliers) faux stitching this time plus a button from my collection. The sentiment is CG. Finally that fabulous paper is from Dovecraft and from a 6x6 pad called 'Contemporary Christmas'. UPDATE - Forgot to mention the fluffy stuff on Teds hat, I used Liquid Applique, you just squeeze it on and then heat it up. Had this product for must be over ten years but always comes out especially at Christmas.
---
Thanks for popping by and I be back to post another version of this gorgeous teddy in the coming days.
Take care, keep warm, Jane x

At the seaside ...

Well with all the rain we have been having, the water side of the seaside anyway. Still clutching onto Summer cards before the final push on Christmas cards.
Had this Tilda since its release & had used it with watercolour pencils but not used the good old Promarkers on it until now. I think I must have alot of stamps (well dahh, that is an understatement) that haven't actually seen Promarkers yet?
---
Lets get on with the receipe for Seaside Tilda. Liquid embossing from Anitas along with the gems too. Crystal Stickles for the top of Tildas summer dress. Rymans white cardstock & Momento ink for the image. Shell stamps as before from Magnolia & Panduro. Netting my Mum gave to me from Trago Mills in Liskeard. Sentiment is Craftwork Cards. Now backing paper is an online freebie I think from Zoe Pearn, really must learn to label the papers so I can let all you bloggers out there where to find the goodies! (Note to self, label freebies on download)!
---
Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog, I really do appreciate it & if you have the time to leave a message that would be great, I love receiving all the comments.
---
Haven't got round to photographing the other LOTV bear stamps I spoke about in my last post but I promise it is on the list!

Birthday Buoy!

Well I have been playing with the LOTV Christmas bear as I said in my previous post but as yet I haven't photographed the results so I thought I would share this card with you all. Again using one of the fab LOTV designer stamps I have gone for a sepia look. I have stamped using the Tim Holtz distress inks & then drawn the colour out. The photo does not show it very well but I have also highlighted some edges with a gold gel pen to give an gold embossed look.
---
The card base is one of Anitas, I have also used an manilla envelope for the backing paper with some hand stitching. Quite a fashionable look at the mo & cheap to achieve, all you need do is wait for those bills through your door!! Blue card stock from my local stationers & Rymans white cardstock for the stamped images. I have used the 'Boy with Boat' from LOTV, Magnolia life buoy & shells, also a star fish stamp from Panduro. Ribbon from Debbi Moore, gems are Anitas & the sentiment is computer generated.
--
Thanks for looking, I will post the Christmas bears when I have photographed them.
Watch this space.

Lets play dress up ...

Well over the weekend I was playing with the gorgeous stamps from Lili of the Valley. Thought I would tell the story as it were, teddy carrying the box of Christmas decorations, teddy playing with the tinsel & finally ted all decorated complete with star!
---
I have used Anitas square card blank, gold mirri from the £1 stand at the Farnborough Make It show earlier this year. Red card scrap. Rymans white cardstock, images stamped with Momento & coloured using the good old Promarkers. I have used a gold gel pen for the star, some fine glitter for the tinsel, finished off with some gingham ribbon which might be from Debbi Moore & a gold peel off for the sentiment.
---
Off to play some more with these fabby images, hope you like my card & take care

Stitchy Bear, Berry....

Todays post, well I have to thank Gina for showing this fab digi stamp called Berry from Stitchy Bear, I saw Ginas cards & had to have her. Perfect for teenage girls don't you think. Fabulous to colour & I thought I would go for sexy pink!
---
I coloured Berry using Promarkers as always, great results everytime. Black cardstock from stash. Backing paper, mmmm, not sure, freebie from somewhere. If anyone recognises where it is from I would like to credit them? Martha Stewart branch punch, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts with a touch of Promarkers. Sentiment is from TLC. Gems are Anitas & that ribbon again from the card blanks from Anitas. Pearls from Katy Cards.
---
Enjoy the rest of your Sunday, the weather is glorious, fab for dog walking as we have been today.

Here comes Fergus ...

Loving little Fergus and I especially love how the colouring has come out on this particular one, I think I am getting the hang of the old Promarkers! Hand stitched again, Anitas gems. Backing paper from MME, ribbon from good old Wild Orchid Crafts. Base card is Anitas, basic cream card is from Rymans. The sentiment is from Craftwork Cards. Off to play some more, thanks for paying me a visit and I hope to be back soon.

Meet Fergus ....

This is Fergus from the delightful new release from Wild Rose Studio. Isn't he the cutest & fabulous to colour. I have used those free papers again, some candy from Craftwork Cards, an old heart ribbler thingy and that ribbon you get when you buy bulk card blanks? Coloured using Promarkers, Stickles 'Crystal' glitter for the bouquet and the sentiment is from TLC.
---
Thanks for your time, keep on crafting.

Mermaid Tilda ...

As promised yesterday, here is my second version of the adorable Mermaid Tilda but as you can see in a different colour combination. I have used netting once again and put some shells in it. I am particularly pleased with the twisted ribbon in this case representing the seaweed. I have also used the liquid embossing on the flower!
---
Thanks for stopping by & any comments you wish to leave. I am currently working on several images including another Tilda and one of the new release from Wild Rose Studio, watch this space!

Mermaid Tilda ...

I have been playing with the liquid embossing again on this one to replicate Tilda under the sea. I have made an acetate dome slightly wider than the card blank & put droplets of Anitas liquid embossing on the inside then left to dry. I have to say I am really pleased with the way it has turned out, so much so I have another version close to completion.
---
I have used papers free with a mag by My Minds Eye. Martha Stewart branch punch. Flower, babys breath & ribbon from Wild Orchid Crafts. Netting was from Trago Mills in Cornwall. Stickles glitter 'crystal' for Tildas tail and coloured using good old Promarkers. The sentiment was from TLC.
---
Thank you sooo much for dropping by, I will be back soon.
Take care, carry on crafting, Jane x

Sailor Edwin ...

---
Today I have one of the lovely Magnolia stamps, sailor Edwin. Thought I would make a port hole complete with brads and some acetate. It is not a shaker card but I have put some liquid embossing on the inside to represent splashes of water! Edwin has also been decoupaged so that there is more definition of him hanging off the anchor. Backing paper was from my stash and the sentiment was from TLC. I have used netting again along with some Magnolia shell stamps. The starfish is a stamp from Panduro, I think it came as part of a set many moons ago. You won't be able to see very well but I have also included some pearls in with the netting & the shells. Coloured using the wonderful Promarkers as always.
---
Thanks for looking, please don't be shy and leave a message. Enjoy the rest of this glorious bank holiday weather & I hope to be back later this week with some more creations.

Hanglar ...

---
Today I have been playing with this lovely Hanglar image, soooo adorable. I coloured the image using Promarkers first (which I don't usually do) and then matched the papers. I am rather pleased on two counts, firstly its the dreaded 'mans' card and that I managed without flowers! The brads are Papermania, backing paper was a free download I think. Netting from Trago Mills, rafia from my local garden centre. Button & staples from stash. The sentiment was a freebie from a mag but can't remember which one at this point so I will update if I manage to find out later! 'Gone Fishing' is computer generated.

Thanks for looking, take care, happy crafting

Japanese Tilda ...

---
The new release of Magnolia, Bon Voyage Collection is as adorable as ever. This particular one is amongst my favourites from the new collection. Yet to play with my other new stamps from the release, I don't know where the time goes, sooo many goodies with soooo little time!
---
Anyway onto the card, Anitas square white card blank, Japanese Tilda (obviously) coloured using Promarkers onto Rymans white card stock. I have also used a gold gel pen to colour the flowers on her dress but that is not all that clear on the picture. Stickles glitter for the flowers Tilda is holding.
---
I have also yet again, becoming a habit I think hand stitched the branches in black. Anitas red gems, flowers are die cut from the Quickutz, I believe the die is flower doodads? Red backing card & cream pearlised cardstock (has a lovely shimmer but I couldn't get a clear shot) from Payperbox at my local craft stockist. That butterfly punch again, black ribbon from Wild Orchid Crafts and finally sentiment is CG.
---
I am entering this particular card into the
Sir Stampalot Challenge for August
which is 'Bring on the Bling'

Daughter ...

---

Today my daughter became a teenager and yes I know this card is not very teenagerish but I won this digi stamp earlier this year and my daughter just loved it, hence the card. It is a combo of an easel and shaker card containing fairy dust. I hand stitched the sentiment and used the fab My Minds Eye papers free in a magazine recently. As the card was bulking I made a matching box using I think a free digi stamp from the world wide web (if you know whos I will link it here)? Coloured using Promakers, flowers, ribbon & pin again from Wild Orchid Crafts, butterflies cut using the MM Slice. Martha Stewart branch punch, the rest of the goodies from my craft stash. She was really delighted and has had a wonderful day, out for dinner and tomorrow we are hitting the shops!

Published ...

---
Purchased the new edition (74) of Simply Cards & Papercraft today and found a card I sent a while ago has been published on their letters page!!!!!!!!! I know it sounds cheesy to say I had forgotten about it but I really had, with so much work to do and not alot of craft time it really had slipped my mind. In the past I have had confirmation emails to say I was going to be published but not this time so it was a complete surprise. The card has been made for my daughters friends birthday next month, it is soooo her, I hope she likes it too?
I featured this card on my blog back on the 3rd June along with another colour combination.

Ticket stamp from Inkadinkado, flowers from Wild Orchid as always. Branch punch from Martha Stewart. 'Just Because' sentiment from Personal Impressions. Another adorable image this time from Mo Manning which comes complete with the sentiment. The little girls face and the cats just say it all really. Decided to use pink (for a girl) and turquoise. Wanted to keep it simple but say so much and suitable for any occasion. This is my first Mo Manning image and I am sure it won't be the last why not take a peak at whats available here http://digitalpenciltoo.com/
---
Stamp and sentiment from Mo Manning called Patience there is also a boy version.
Papers are from Zoe Pearn, white cardstock from Rymans.
Coloured using Promarkers, hand stitched, buttons & ribbon from stash.

Hey Dude!

Today is a really clean simple card for the guys. Used a A6 card as a change from a square one. Stamped 'My Guy Ian' which I love, a joy to colour from the Greetings Farm, coloured using Promarkers. Inked the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Inks. String from stash, star cut using the Slice, embossed with Cuttlebug folder and finished off with a button. The sentiment 'Dude' is from the Greetings Farm again and the 'Hey' is CG.

Thanks for popping over to see me, loving this weather, long may it last. Made a New Year resolution to make ten Christmas cards a week, lasted a couple of weeks and now with the sunshine I can't bring myself to start up again!

May all your wishes come true ...

Again I have gone for another aperture card (although not that clear in this photo) as this digi image; from the Lilybean Fairies collection at Pollycraft Designs really suits it.
---
---
Instead of using punched out flowers I have gone for flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts which were roses and I have taken off the bottom layer only so I can use the remainder of the roses for another project. Martha Stewart branches. Papers again from the lovely Zoe Pearn, coloured using Promarkers, Stickles glitter for the wings and the aperture. Craftwork Cards sentiment, hand stitched and some gems.

Another Longing Tilda ...

---
She is sooo adorable, I thought she would look great in an aperture card. Inspired by Jane which can be found here http://whiffofjoy.blogspot.com/2010/06/punched-screen-card-by-jane-johnson.html such a simple yet very effective technique me thinks. Tilda has been coloured using Promarkers inspired in this instance by the lovely Kate Knight papers which were free in a magazine sometime ago.
---
I am entering this card for the http://sirstampalotchallenge.blogspot.com/ which for June is 'Punch it'.

Thanks for looking, please leave a message and I hope everyone is enjoying the lovely sunshine!

Butterfly ...

I have made this card for my parents for their anniversary, I know it is not very wedding like but they gave me the stamps recently and I thought it would be nice to show what could be done with them. They don't really understand my hobby but having bought the stamps, mere pieces of plastic to this card I think they might be surprised! Fingers crossed xxx

It didn't photograph particularly well due the the pale colours.
The butterfly is decoupaged along with some of the flowers.

The Sweet Cabin

Well today is a card I have made for a friend of mine who is just about to open up her new business as a traditional sweet shop. If you are anything like me I love the sweets from my childhood so I wish her a happy and prosperous future. Obviously when I hand her the this card I will also purchase some sweeties, got to try the merchandise!!!!!

I know in my last post I said I was off to play with the free stamps of Bentley Bear but unfortunately mine were faulty so I couldn't play :( I am waiting for a replacement set to come so hopefully sometime soon I can show you what I have created?
Well onto todays card, as you will see I have stuck with the paper aida and cross stitch theme. The striped paper is deckled at the top to represent the sweet bags along with the colour of them. I tried to embellish with different types of sweeties but I kept coming back to these beautiful flowers.

I was delighted to see I have a card on the letters page too which entitles me to free craft goodies, can't wait to see what drops on my door mat!

My Prince Charming ...

Same colours and yep another Tilda, I made this card for my Hubby as we have just celebrated our wedding anniversary. Not masculine I know but I am Tilda (I wish) and my hubby is the frog; my prince charming. I have stamped and enlarged the frog for the base and layered onto a computer generated base with the words; kiss me ... kiss me ...

Grandmothers 90th

Made this card for my children to give to my Grandmother for her birthday. As you can see I am loving these colour tones at the moment. As on my previous post I do struggle with the sentiments but seeing as this is the main feature of the card it has turned out exactly as I planned and I am really rather pleased with the result. I created my own paper aida and then cross stitched the sentiment, the worst thing was to punch all the holes!
I am entering this card in the http://sirstampalotchallenge.blogspot.com/ for May which is Butterflies and Blossoms :)

Mother

Yes, another Tilda, this one as the title suggests is for my Mums birthday next month. I have a couple of cards on the way using this backing paper and colour combo and distress inks. I struggle with the sentiments on my creations, never really plan where they are going until the last minute but decided to create my own 'aida' and cross stitch 'Mother' for this one.

I have entered this creation for the Totally Gorgeous challenge this week http://totallygorjuss.blogspot.com/
which is 'Stitching' why not pop on over and take part?
